Meet the local ESRA Committee
A day in the life of An-Chiao Liu
Hello, I am An-Chiao Liu, I joined Utrecht University last September as a post-doctoral researcher. I am working on record linkage and am interested in data quality in general. Right before ESRA, I will defend my PhD dissertation which is on selection bias correction in nonprobability samples.
I live in a beautiful historic city Amersfoort, which can be easily reached by bus from the Utrecht Science Park. My normal working day usually starts with seeing some beautiful ancient city walls, and the tower Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren.
Since Amersfoort is a quiet and peaceful city, if the weather is nice, you can easily spot some friendly cats enjoying the sunshine or even come to greet you.
During work, if I ever need a nice coffee or inspiration, I will stop by The Village Coffee. You can also find them in the city center. Counting sheep and watching ducks in the USP are great things to do during my thinking process.
After work, I sometimes comfort my Asian soul by having some nice Asian food in Utrecht. You probably will find me having an authentic bubble tea at CoCo, or a ramen at Takumi. If you are also a foodie, I am happy to discuss my list with you during ESRA. (And I am also happy to discuss research of course.)
