Survey Software Solutions for Cross-National Surveys and Processes

Coordinator 1Mr Maurice Martens (Centerdata)

Session Details

The successful implementation of cross-national surveys depends not only on sound methodology but also on robust software solutions that support complex survey processes across countries, organizations, and modes of data collection. As survey programs increasingly adopt digital-first approaches, effective software tools have become essential for managing questionnaire design, translation, testing, fieldwork, monitoring, data processing, and quality assurance.
This session invites papers that present innovative survey software solutions, technical developments, implementation experiences, or evaluations of platforms used to support cross-national survey research. We welcome contributions from both established international survey programs and national or regional initiatives. Topics may include, but are not limited to, questionnaire authoring and management systems, multilingual survey implementation, sample and fieldwork management, interviewer and respondent portals, adaptive survey designs, paradata collection, dashboarding and monitoring tools, process automation, quality control frameworks, and integrations between survey platforms and data-processing environments.
Particular attention will be given to software solutions that facilitate harmonization across countries while maintaining the flexibility required to address local operational needs. We also encourage contributions discussing implementation challenges, scalability, interoperability, user experience, and lessons learned from deploying survey technologies in complex survey environments.
The session aims to bring together survey methodologists, software developers, data collection specialists, and survey practitioners to exchange experiences and identify best practices for designing and implementing software solutions that improve the efficiency, quality, and sustainability of cross-national survey operations.
